League Basics

What are Golf Hour leagues?

Golf Hour leagues bring golfers together for indoor simulator golf, friendly competition, and a social experience. Players complete a series of league events in our state-of-the-art simulator bays.

What is the difference between the Competitive League and the Casual League?

The Competitive League is for players with an established GHIN Handicap who want to compete for cash prizes. The Casual League welcomes any players and offers Golf Hour Simulator Bay Gift Certificates as prizes.

Do I need an established handicap to join?

An established GHIN Handicap is required for the Competitive League. The Casual League welcomes any players without that requirement.

How many players are on a team?

Our Competitive and Casual leagues use two-person teams. Choose a teammate and review the sign-up information for your selected league before registering.

How long does a league last, and how many events are included?

Our Competitive and Casual leagues typically run for eight weeks and include eight 9-hole events. Review League Sign Ups for the structure of the league you want to join.

When do leagues start?

Start dates vary by league and season. Visit League Sign Ups for current league schedules and registration information.

Registration & Member Benefits

Joining a League

How do I sign up?

Visit League Sign Ups, choose your league, and select its Sign Up button. Each league has its own registration page.

How much does it cost to join a league?

Entry fees vary by league. The League Sign Ups page lists current team and per-person pricing so you can review the cost before registering.

Do Golf Hour members receive a league discount?

Yes. Current Golf Hour members receive a discount on league entry fees. Review the member benefit shown on League Sign Ups for current details.

What is included with league entry?

League entry includes the scheduled league events and booking credits assigned to the team captain for practice and league play. Courses, formats, scoring, and prizes are described in the selected league listing.

What does the team captain do?

The team captain receives the team's booking credits after sign-up and uses them to arrange simulator bookings for practice and league events.

Reservations & Simulator Time

Booking and Playing

Do we have to play at a fixed time each week?

Your team books its own matches during Golf Hour's business hours rather than attending one fixed league session. Follow your league's event schedule when choosing when to play.

How do we book a league match?

Use Golf Hour's online booking page to reserve a simulator bay during business hours. The team captain uses the booking credits assigned after sign-up for league practice and play.

How much time should we book for a 9-hole league event?

Each 9-hole event should take a two-person team no more than 1.5 hours to complete. Plan your reservation around that event length.

How many booking credits does our team receive?

After sign-up, the team captain is assigned 12 hours of booking credits for the eight-event league. These credits can be used for practice and league events.

Can we use booking credits to practice?

Yes. Your team's booking credits can be used for practice as well as league events. Practice uses the same credit allowance, so plan your bookings to leave enough time to complete all events.

Do we play the same course and format throughout the league?

No. Our Competitive and Casual leagues feature a different course each week and multiple formats throughout the league. Follow the course and format instructions for each event.

Results & Rewards

Scoring and Prizes

Will real-time scoring be available?

Yes. Real-time scoring is available for league play so players can follow results as the league progresses.

How are handicaps handled in the Competitive League?

The Competitive League requires an established GHIN Handicap. Handicap adjustments are made at the end of the league. Review the league instructions for details about scoring and final results.

What prizes does the Competitive League offer?

The Competitive League awards cash prizes for first and second place and a Golf Hour Gift Card for third place. First place receives 80% of the cash pot, and second place receives 20%.

How is the Competitive League cash pot determined?

The cash pot grows with the number of teams registered. Visit League Sign Ups for the current contribution per team and an example of how the prize pot is calculated.

What prizes does the Casual League offer?

The Casual League awards Golf Hour Simulator Bay Gift Certificates: three hours for first place, two hours for second place, and one hour for third place.
